Jericó is a beautiful and small town, just 2 and a half hours southwest of Medellin. Its average temperature ranges from 14°C to 23°C (57°F to 73°F), and it is surrounded by green forests and mountains that hide beautiful views, rivers, and waterfalls. Jericó was of great importance to the economic and cultural development of the Antioquia department, so much so that it is called “La Atenas del Suroeste” (The Athens of the Southwest). Today, it has a great variety of museums and historical sites. In addition, its colonial architecture streets and buildings are picturesque and beautiful. Along with its botanical garden, many churches, and central square, has made many people call “el pueblito más hermoso de Antioquia” (the most beautiful little town in Antioquia), and, in 2013, it was designated as a Pueblo Patrimonio (heritage town) of Colombia. Its gastronomy and coffee tradition are also worth mentioning, as it has a great variety of restaurants with exquisite food, and its coffee is considered one of the best in Antioquia.

About Us
Hi! I'm Rafa, I am a Spanish teacher and published writer. I have always had a great passion for languages and literature, so I made the wild choice of studying Hispanic philology at university. There, I learned a lot about my language, other Romance languages, as well as Latin and Ancient Greek. From contact with those languages, I fell in love with Italian, so I made it my second language, undoubtedly another wild decision. I was born in Medellín and lived there most of my life, studying during the day and working as a bartender at night, until one day, a third wild choice, I went to live on a beach in Cartagena, where I spent a year working in a small bar. The experience was incredible; sand, sea, beers and a very quiet life, plus I met many backpackers from all over the world with whom I shared wonderful experiences, which helped me to become more open-minded. After that year I returned to Medellin to continue my studies at the university, and it was at that moment that I began to immerse myself in the world of teaching Spanish. So far, I have been teaching Spanish for more than 5 years and I have had students from all over the world, forming a good friendship with them and always having moments of fun. And although I never dreamed of being a Spanish teacher, today I can safely say that I love teaching Spanish.
Hello! I’am Mauricio and I was born in Medellin. All my life I have loved sports, and when I went at university, I discovered rugby, a sport that I fell in love with and has been my passion for over 20 years. I played for the Colombian national rugby team and participated in different international tournaments in South and Central America. I was also the champion of the Central American and Caribbean Games in Mexico in 2014 and played several years in the United States. Thanks to all this, I have had the fortune of getting to know many countries and making friends from all over the world. When I retired professionally from rugby, I dedicated my life to traveling and business, so I have lived in Costa Rica, the United States, Mexico, and Brazil, and now I also speak English and Portuguese. I also spent a few months in some countries in Europe, although that was a pleasure trip. After several years of living outside of Colombia, one day I came back to visit my family, and after talking a little with my brother, I ended up involved in this project. Since I have always enjoyed traveling and getting to know new places and different cultures, this school is a good place for me, as meeting so many people from all over the world feels like traveling.
Woof! I'm Eris! I was born in Cartagena, where I was adopted by Rafa because my previous owner didn't want to take care of me. I lived on the beach for several months and even though I don't really like water, I enjoyed running on the sand and playing with people and other dogs. When Rafa left Cartagena, he took me with him on his motorcycle and, along with some friends, we traveled for 3 days until we reached Medellin. I have been by his side ever since and he always takes me everywhere on his motorcycle, which I love, woof! Now that we are in Jericó, I like to spend my time running around the school, rolling in the grass, playing with all the people who visit us and, of course, barking at anything that dares to invade my territory, because I am a fierce protector. Woof! Woof!
